Yes, you read that right! The onion is not just a vegetable intended to make you cry when you peel it. On the contrary, it is used in many home remedies, starting with treating bruises.

The latter indeed contains alliinase, a substance that stings the eyes but which is also very useful against hematomas: it triggers the lymphatic flow and thus prevents the blood from accumulating and forming a bruise.

As soon as you bump, quickly apply a large onion ring to the affected area for about ten minutes. Results guaranteed!

Ice cubes

A great classic but it has always proven itself! Ice is known to cause blood vessels to constrict, and therefore reduce inflammation. The blood flow is also reduced and the bruise does not appear or barely appears.

Also, note that the cold puts the affected area of the body to sleep and therefore aids to calm the pain. The sooner you can apply it after receiving a blow or shock, the less you will suffer.

Be cautious, however, not to put ice cubes directly on your skin: always wrap them in a cloth or a towel.
