Why dye your eyebrows?
Eyebrow tinting is ideal for better defining your line in a lasting way without having to go through the permanent makeup box.
The application of coloring, in the principle of the same color as the hairline, makes it possible to intensify the contrast between the skin and the hairs of the eyebrows, which, visually, makes the line of the eyebrow sharper, more intense, and also makes the eyebrow appear fuller than it is.
The result is generally quite stunning: the face is better structured, the gaze more intense and eyebrow makeup becomes unnecessary (or almost).

Tinting your eyebrows yourself: how to do it?
As you will have understood, eyebrow tinting is full of advantages and promises… That it will only hold if it is done very well!
Indeed, doing your eyebrow tinting requires preparation and discipline: you have to follow the procedure to obtain a beautiful result. Here are the main steps for successful eyebrow tinting at home.
Buy a special coloring for the eyebrows
You thought you could color your eyebrows with the end of your hair color pot? Out of the question! Hair coloring contains products that are far too aggressive to be used near the eyes, it is imperative to buy a coloring specially designed for this area. You can easily find them in professional stores or on the net, but be sure to do your research before making your purchase.
Make sure you choose the right color
Then you have to make sure you choose the right color. This must match that of the roots of your hair for a natural effect.
Ideally, you should have had the advice of a professional to choose exactly the right shade, which is why it is wise to do your very first eyebrow tinting in an institute and then do the following ones at home.
Gather your gear
To successfully color your eyebrows, you will need to have the following small equipment available:
- An eyebrow brush to brush your eyebrows before applying the color
- An angled brush to apply the dye
- Vaseline or another very oily all-purpose balm to protect the skin around the eyebrow and prevent smudging
- A handkerchief to protect your sink and place the tools full of dye
- Cotton swabs to correct the pose if necessary
- And your coloring of course
Do an allergy test beforehand
As always with beauty products that are likely to be a little harsh on the skin, it is vital to carry out an allergy test by placing a little product on the inside of your wrist 48 hours before dyeing, if nothing is passed you can dye your eyebrows quietly.
Prepare the area
Just before applying your tint, protect your eyebrow by using a greasy substance like petroleum jelly so as not to color the skin.
Apply the eyebrow color well
You can then apply the coloring product using an angled brush. Be certain to put it everywhere, specifically on the outer end of the eyebrow (which we tend to forget) then leave it on for the time indicated on your product.
Rinse with care
Once the exposure time has elapsed, rinse your eyebrows carefully after removing the excess coloring with a tissue or cotton. When rinsing with water, be very careful not to get splashed in the eyes.
How to make eyebrow coloring last longer?
To make eyebrow coloring last longer and enjoy your peace of mind longer, try following these few tips:
- Avoid wetting your eyebrows for 12 hours after coloring: once the rinse is finished, keep your eyebrows dry until the color takes well
- Avoid cleaning them for 12 hours: same advice concerning cleaning products, avoid soaps, make-up removers and other lotions
- Avoid brushing your eyebrows for 24 hours: let your eyebrows rest for a whole day after tinting
- Avoid making up or fixing them for 24 hours: no makeup or eyebrow gel for at least 24 hours, it is important to let your skin and hair rest
