All these little summer hazards can dry out and damage our pretty feet. These extremities, like any other part of the body, need to be regularly hydrated, especially since the skin on the heels is generally much thicker than elsewhere.

How to avoid injuries from rubbing sandals?

  • Choose quality shoes made of leather rather than plastic or imitation leather;
  • Remember to wear different shoes every day to limit injuries due to recurrent wearing of the same straps in the same places.

What to do to limit foot sweating?

Who says summer heat says… sweating! It’s not very glamorous, but that’s how our body tries to cool off. Sweaty feet, in addition to being uncomfortable, can cause infections such as fungal infections and bad odors, but also injuries because of your shoes. Here are some tips to fix it:

  • Sprinkle baking soda on your feet before putting on your sandals, it will absorb perspiration and eliminate bad smells;
  • Sprinkle talc on your feet, it will also absorb perspiration and limit unpleasant friction;
  • Wear airy shoes and avoid socks in summer. You will even find ventilated hiking shoes in sports stores;
  • Add a few drops of peppermint essential oil to your foot cream to benefit from an immediate cooling effect!

How to avoid tan marks on our feet?

Have you finally taken out your favorite sandals, but after a beautiful sunny day you discover ugly tan lines decorating your feet? Do not panic! There are tips to avoid or reduce tan marks on the feet:

  • Consider applying sunscreen to your feet. They are also sensitive to skin aging and external aggressions!
  • Exfoliate your feet regularly to facilitate an even tan and to get rid of tan lines;
  • Make a foot bath with lemon juice. Lightening will reduce the traces of tan. In addition, it will treat cracked heels, eliminate toxins and relieve fungal infections of the feet;
  • Change shoe models regularly, this will avoid displaying marked tan marks.

  • Soak your feet in a basin of warm water to which you can add a few drops of essential oil of lavender, lemon, or peppermint;
  • Then make a scrub with a mixture of olive oil and coarse sea salt;

  • Lightly sand your heels and other rough parts using a pumice stone or a suitable grater;
  • Then push back the cuticles with a stick;
  • File your nails, and if necessary cut them;
  • Then apply a moisturizing balm or vegetable butter, and put on a pair of socks. Leave on for about thirty minutes;
  • Remove the socks and massage your feet so that the rest of the balm is absorbed;

  • Apply the first coat of varnish (green if possible, even organic), then a second, taking care to let the varnish dry well between each coat;
  • Finally, apply a layer of top coat on your nails to protect them.
