How Julia Fox Turned Heads with Her Cherry Red Hair and Brows

During New York Fashion Week, the “it-girls” were present, but our focus was exclusively on Julia Fox. With her unique fashion sense, she is always ready to flaunt some of the wildest outfits in NYC, from a dress made of leaves and resin to a cyber centaur costume. Recently, however, she dyed her hair and eyebrows a bright cherry red, making it her most easily replicable look yet.

On February 15th, Fox was seen donning a Willy Chavarria ensemble that consisted of an oversized basketball short, a black mesh sports jersey, and slouchy black patent leather pointed-toe boots. She kept her accessories to a minimum with a simple black drawstring backpack that complemented her high-fashion athletic look. The following day, she paired her newly colored hair with a patent leather moto jacket, thigh-high Pleaser boots, and a purse that resembled a life-size, latex-clad woman.

Julia Fox’s new look

In regards to her new hairdo, Julia Fox took matters into her own hands. “As for hair and makeup… I did it myself, yeah,” she wrote in the caption of her Instagram post revealing her bold new look. She parted her stick-straight, long hair down the middle and dyed it a bright red shade from root to tip. Rather than bleaching her brows, which she does herself to “repel men,” Fox opted to dye her thin brows red to match her hair. To complete her striking look, she added a wash of bright red eyeshadow across her lids and inner corners and applied a dramatic red lip liner that she didn’t blend into her clear, glossy lips.

While Fox is known for serving avant-garde looks during fashion week and beyond, her firetruck red hair surprisingly aligns with the hair trends that have been popular since last year. What sets her hair color apart, however, is the absence of orange tones, which offers a more edgy appearance than the copper shades that other celebrities have been sporting. It’s a simple yet effective way for Fox to stay current with trending colors while remaining true to her unique sense of style that defies categorization.

Although we’re captivated by Julia Fox’s new look, it’s challenging to deem it sustainable for those who prefer low-maintenance beauty regimens. Red hair is notorious for fading quickly, so if you’re considering trying this look, bear this in mind.

Nevertheless, if you’re inspired by Fox to transform your locks, it’s best to visit a professional who can safely lift your current hair color and incorporate vibrant red pigments. Ensure that you invest in color-safe shampoos and reduce your hair washing frequency to maintain the color’s vibrancy. Additionally, plan to visit the salon for touch-ups every six to eight weeks.
